Eid Mubarak!

Time flies so fast, I can't believe a month has gone. When Ramadhan month was approaching, I was extremely nervous on how things will be. I was afraid I won't be able to survive having to prepare sahur and iftar by myself, especially because many things aren't available here in Switzerland so I would have to improvise in terms of food. Plus, fasting and prayer times are so different therefore would have to wake up very early (and sleep very late). Buuuuuut, I survived. We made it through. Wow! This is my first time celebrating Ramadan and Eid as a minority, and it sure feels very different (and lonely). For today's Eid prayers, we drove to the Indonesian Embassy in Bern and celebrated with new friends there. Life feels very different but to experience new things every single day is surely a blessing in itself. Eid Mubarak! :)

Oh Tantrums

I'm really glad to have come across this article which talks about dealing with our child's tantrums especially when it's in public. No matter how tiring or embarrassing it might feel, the key is to just acknowledge that little children have feelings too and they are still learning on how to express them. Besides, these times shall pass and they will become one of those funny things we'd talk about over and over again when they are big inshaaAllah.

"Let's not be embarrassed for our children. It doesn't reflect on you. In fact.. we should probably be a little more kind and patient with ourselves too. If we got out everything we were feeling and allowed ourselves to throw tantrums and cry when we felt the need to then maybe we could also let ourselves feel more joy and happiness. And that is something this world could definitely use a little more of."

Parents with toddles, do have a read! :)

Happy Colors

Feeling so colorful today. But lately I am more and more drawn into the pastel palette. I wonder why...;p

Dear S,

When I look at you, at us, I look at a lot of things. I see happiness, I see joy, I see unconditional love, I see sincerity, I see compassion, I see the fear of losing, I see desire, I see ambition, I see us growing. In all that, we laugh, we cry, we learn, we fight, we argue, we hate, we love more, but most importantly, we live.

Life with you is a life without limits that was never ordinary. In every chapter, there was always a test and a lot of struggle that made us had no choice but to face everything together and we eventually come out stronger. Whatever we are facing today, is to become yet another great story for us to reminisce in the future so we can look at each other's wrinkled face and say once again, "we did it, love."

You are both my soulmate and my life partner. I don't know why things happen the way they do, but I believe that together, everything is possible.

Till death do us part.

Because True Beauty Comes From Acceptance

A lot of girls nowadays talk about self-love and being confident in their own skin, but ironically, to achieve that, they try so hard. How do you promote these values if you are changing so many parts of your body? I raise my eyebrows whenever I read comments from fellow peers to certain girls like, "super pretty!", "always beautiful, babe", while in fact, they have undergone so many treatments to achieve that 'face'. On a personal level, it is everyone's right to do what they want to do, and I do not want to judge. I just wish that more girls would focus on accepting and loving their self genuinely and explore more of their potentials instead of just their outer look. But hey, you do you.

A Vase of Lavenders

I bought a bouquet of lavender flowers from yesterday's trip to Provence and I placed them in our bedroom. Now the room smells sooooooo goooooood. Happy! :)

A Visit To The Lavender Fields

Another roadtrip weekend, this time a 5-hours drive to Valensole, Provence in South of France to see the beautiful fields of lavender. They fully bloom in early July though, but when we went there, the view was beautiful enough to make us smile...:)

Lavender fields are scattered all around the city, but one that is very well maintained and perfect for picture taking is the Lavande Angelvin where they also have a shop selling fresh lavender flowers and products next to it. We also went to the L'occitane Museum and Shop, the actual place where the brand L'occitane all started.

Anyway, the two restaurants I recommend you guys to eat in Valensole are Le P'tit Resto and  La Campagne De Petre. While the first one is located within the city center among many other restaurants and cafes (their beef burger is sooooo good), the latter is located on top of a hill surrounded by lavender fields only. Imagine a single restaurant and nothing else on top of a hill. The journey to reach this restaurant is quite tough though because the roads are rocky and winding but once you reach the top and taste the food, you will not regret. I myself had their prawn dish and it was magnificent!

Been sooooooooo lazy to do anything these past few days, but today I forced myself to do something productive. So I took a shower, put on some make up, dressed up, and took my own maternity photo using a tripod hahah. I used our sofa throw as the background. Happyyyyyy! :)

Hello, Bed.

This continuous heartburn is really uncomfortable. It's just me and my bed for the whole day.
